NEWSFLASH UPDATE

Please find below the latest situation report regarding the flooding of our facilities. I will keep you all posted on developments as they happen.

  1. Many thanks to those members who removed their equipment from their lockers so promptly
  2. The Insurance loss adjuster conducted a survey of the building on Thursday 20th August and has accepted our claim.
  3. We have been authorised to immediately replace the bar drinks cabinet and the fridge to enable use for the 4th September I.O.W. Presidents match.
  4. The process of drying out the club will continue until Tuesday 1st September in the morning when Polygon technicians will conduct a damp survey and make their scope of work  recommendations.
  5. Hopefully the club house will then be declared usable albeit on a bare concrete floor. In which case the following will take place
  6. The Captains Vs Vice Captains match will  take place on 1st September pm
  7. The club finals will now take place on Saturday 5th September and Monday 7th September. Our ladies are in the final of the Glady’s Rowland at Burgess hill on the Sunday 6th September .
  8. The home matches will take place as per the fixtures book. Tea and bar teams as per rota.
  9. The Charity drive will now take place on 11th September, please watch the notice board
  10. The closing drive has been brought forward to 20th September to allow for the green remedial program to start.
  11. Please be advised that it is extremely unlikely that short mat will be able to commence until earliest 1st November, and then dependant on the works program.

Best regards

Arthur Hon Sec

Seaford is a coastal town  situated  mid way between Brighton to the West and Eastbourne to the East and has about  25000 inhabitantsTowns by the sea are subject to sea breezes but here in the south we also get a very fair share of sunshine.

Seaford Bowling Club was founded in 1912.  It is a private club and is located at the junction of Chichester Road and Blatchington Road. Seaford. East Sussex.

It is an outdoor bowling club with one excellent green. We can boast an excellent pavilion  and well stocked bar.  Indeed we are an excellent Club.

In addition to our games against local clubs, we are always pleased to welcome touring teams based in Brighton or Eastbourne.  Overall about 120 games are played between the end of April, until the finish at the end of September each year.

We have a good social side in the `out of season` months, when `Short Mat` is played indoors, we also run Crib, Domino and  Whist evenings.
We do have vacancies whether you are an established bowler or not and  our fees are lower than most.

We are an integrated Club and our fixtures include many mixed games in addition to Ladies or Gents matches. There are also many internal competitions and local league games  for those Ladies or Gents  who wish to take part, and we do encourage those members who wish to play at County or even National Level.

Should you already live in the area or intend to move into Seaford and  wish to join please contact our Hon Secretary  and he will be pleased to help.  There is an application form available from the Membership information page

The game of Bowls is one of the best social games around--you will make a large number of new friends very quickly.
